Lanai Hula Hut

Encircled by vibrant red ti plants and creeping monstera, you’ll find the Lanai Hula Hut, an eclectic curio shop filled to the brim with handmade jewelry, home décor and apparel. Owned by Lanai resident, Gail Allen, the boutique celebrates its first anniversary this December.

Located on 8th Street and facing Dole Park, the petite shop’s whimsical front yard lures visitors in with playful bronze statues and twinkling chimes. Inside the former plantation cottage is a collector’s paradise, with island-style knickknacks, souvenirs and treats suitable for all ages. Shoppers who prefer to buy local may peruse a range of goods handcrafted in Hawaii, including stands of delicate bangles and bracelets strung with Tahitian peals, hand painted “welcome” signs and festive pillows.

Prior to opening Da Hula Hut, Allen owned two other boutiques on the island, The Beach Walk and Island Treasures. In 2015, Allen consolidated her Lanai presence and moved to the new location on Dole Square. A veteran retailer, Allen owns a number of boutiques throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Da Hula Hut, her latest project, represents years of experience curating colorful shops that are sure to attract passersby.

Stop by the Lanai Hula Hut Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and check out what the shop has in store for you. Social media users may follow the business on Instagram @lanaihulahut to stay updated on featured products, sales and special events!
