The LHES cafeteria will be awash in black and white spots for the next two weekends as 45 talented youth performers from the Lanai Academy of Performing Arts (LAPA) sing and dance their hearts out in the Disney musical “101 Dalmatians.”

“It’s full of action, great music, dancing and a lot of fun,” said LAPA Executive Director Matt Glickstein. “We have terrific kids who love this production and can’t stop singing the songs all around town.”

The musical features two Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, who attempt to rescue their puppies from a dognapping villain, Cruella de Vil.

Auditions were held in April and the children, who range in age from four to 13, have been practicing every day since the start of summer.

“The kids have worked diligently, learning teamwork and forming special bonds with each other through this experience,” said Matt. “This is the first year we’ve launched musical theater on Lanai and I’m so grateful for the support of all our parents and the community who have made this possible for our kids.”
