It’s Time for Lanai’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Lanai, the first Saturday in December is reserved for the annual tree lighting ceremony. For more than 20 years, residents have gathered for the lighting of the Christmas tree to officially kick off the holiday season. Festivities begin on Saturday, December 7 in front of the old Dole Administration building on Lanai Avenue at 2 p.m.
Entertainment, Santa, and more
Santa will make his grand arrival on the back of a Lanai Fire Station pickup truck, bringing along goodies for keiki and holiday cheer. The whole family can also enjoy live music performances, crafts, delicious food and activities throughout the day.
The main event: Lighting the tree
As the sun sets, gather around the Christmas tree in front of the Admin building for the official lighting. Members from Coalition for a Drug-Free Lanai (CDFL) give the tree the star treatment, adorning it with ornaments and twinkling lights. The organization brings together various groups and volunteers to lovingly decorate the tree.
This event is made possible by the Lanai Community Foundation and by other community volunteers.
