A Night of Woodfire and Sourdough
- Chef Jeff Scheer
- Musical performances by Matt Costa and Anthony Michael featuring Adam Topol
When the restaurant industry shut down in March of 2020, Chef/Owner Jeff Scheer and wife Kaili began making sourdough pizza out of their home outdoor oven. Milling whole wheat berries from a farm in Arizona, hand stretching mozzarella, whole-animal butchery, home-grown artichokes and summer squash for toppings – it was a true labour of love, turning a ritual into a restaurant. At Marlow enjoy artisan-style, Neapolitan sourdough pizza, and locally sourced meats and vegetables, where family and friends share good food and wine around the table.
Matt Costa is a Laguna Beach, California-based songwriter with a storied career that includes early hits on Brushfire label Songs We Sing and Unfamiliar Faces that have become standbys. His recent years on Dangerbird records have taken him down eclectic and ever-changing roads with the critically acclaimed Santa Rosa Fangs and 2020’s Yellow Coat. He then debuted as a filmmaker, directing and scoring the film Donde Los Terremotos for Roark and starring skateboarding legend Jamie Thomas. He has toured and worked all over the world with artists such as Modest Mouse, Ryan Adams, Death Cab for Cutie, Zach Gill and Jack Johnson.
Adam Topol built a considerable career over two decades playing drums and percussion with Jack Johnson, Joey Santiago (Pixies), Neil Halstead (Slowdive) and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd). The 2016 release of Regardless of the Dark marked his solo debut, where he stepped out from behind the drum kit for the first time. Cuando is his newest full length (Everloving Records) with production by Matt Costa Music. Born and raised in Reno, Topol received a formal jazz education at Boston’s Berklee School of Music and studied in Havana, Cuba before landing in his current abode, Los Angeles. He’s off a two-year world tour with Jack Johnson, sharing the stage with Ziggy Marley, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, and reggae legend Horace Andy.
