Lots to See and Do at 2018 Pineapple Festival

Thursday, July 05, 2018

Every summer, the community looks forward to the annual Pineapple Festival held on the first Saturday in July. Lanai Community Association has another stellar lineup planned for this year, with lots to see, do and eat! Don't miss the festivities this Saturday, July 7.

LHES Alumni Parade

Lanai High and Elementary School is celebrating its 80th anniversary with an alumni parade at 1:30 p.m. Former and current Pine Lads and Lasses are welcome to come by and show your school pride!

Beach Bucket Cooking Challenge

Come watch Lanai’s version of “Chopped,” hosted by Adam Tabura. Now in its fifth year, the Beach Bucket Cooking Challenge offers fast-paced fun, excitement and good food! Teams will compete to cook up their best dishes from ingredients found in their buckets, Chopped-style. Cheer on your favorite team!

Entertainment

One of the most anticipated parts of Pineapple festival is the lineup of local music and performances. Come by 4 p.m. to enjoy the Union Church Singers and a cappella group Manele. Halau Hula O Lanaikaula will begin their hula performance at 5, followed by Polynesian dance group Tamatea Nui O Lanai.

The Stellarcats from Honolulu will kick off the evening entertainment at 6:30 p.m. You may recognize lead singer Natalie Jeffers, who was born and raised on Lanai!

At 7:30, we welcome Hawaiian Time to the stage. This Lanai band will be playing all the old hits, taking you back to the best in island and reggae music.

Pineapple Festival Highlights

As always, there will be lots of ono food booths, vendors selling crafts and jewelry, educational exhibits and games for keiki. The festival wraps up at 9 p.m. with the crown jewel: a spectacular fireworks show.

Come one, come all to Dole Park on July 7 to enjoy all the Pineapple Festival has to offer!
