A new community bulletin board on Lanai

If you want to know what’s happening on Lanai, check out the bulletin boards around town. The boards, found at many local businesses in Lanai City, showcase a variety of flyers about community events, jobs, items for sale, and much more.
There’s now a new place to share these classified-type notices on the island, the post office. In partnership with the Coalition for Drug Free Lanai (CDFL) and Pulama Lanai, the Lanai Post Office will now provide a community bulletin board at this high-visibility location.
“The post office is a longstanding community gathering place on Lanai,” explained Joelle Aoki, executive director of CDFL. “Residents talk story and share news when they check their mail, but we wanted to offer another way to get information out to their neighbors. With this new partnership, we hope the bulletin boards will become a valuable resource for the whole community.”
Flyer Guidelines
For those interested in posting a notice at the post office, be sure to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Include name and contact information
- Print on paper no larger than 8.5”x11” (standard printer paper)
- Use portrait orientation
- One notice per event or issue
- Please submit flyers no sooner than 21 days before an event
The flyers will be actively managed and removed when they are no longer timely to keep information on the boards current.
Submitting Notices
To submit a flyer to the new community bulletin board, drop it off at the CDFL office located in the Dole Admin building. Place the notice in a manila envelope and slide it under the door. The flyers will be reviewed and posted on an ongoing basis.
