LHES Alumna Iolani Zablan Now Teaching Kindergarten

Headshot of Lanai school teacher Iolani Zablan

Iolani Zablan came to Lanai from Oahu at a young age. Now, as a Kindergarten long-term substitute, this LHES alumna has the opportunity to give back to the community where she grew up.

Ms. Zablan is eager to learn from her colleagues at LHES. “I love the teachers because I’m still learning from them,” she said. “Rhett Parham is mentoring me to become a better teacher.”

She’s also committed to furthering her education so she can become a full-time teacher. “Mr. Parham is helping me with college courses so I can become a certified teacher. I appreciate the community’s support.”

In her time off, Ms. Zablan enjoys spending time with her one-year-old son, taking him to the beach or playing on their backyard playground. She also loves to sing. As her LHES classmates may remember, this songbird entered their school’s talent show several times as a student!
